Point of Origin

Hello,

My name is Cherie. I’m a copywriter and editor from New York City. I’ve been writing and obsessed with words for as long as I can remember.

I got my start writing medical stories and raiding libraries in my neighborhood for fun. I started out studying medicine but over time decided to switch. Realizing my love of words and the impact they could provide led me to  take detour and pursue writing full time.

I went on to study English for my Bachelors and Masters. Studying everything from critical theory, feminism, and creative writing expanded my mind immensely. 

Having always loved blogging and digital content, I decided to build websites on both Weebly and WordPress. I figured instead of just journaling or talking the heads off of those around me why not express it digitally. I began with my first site, loveyoself, a site encouraging self love and fulfillment. Over time I created other sites discussing the intersection of wellness and how it impacts millennials. With each site I have sought to inform, educate, and reflect. 

Utilizing my creative mind to curate and strategize has always been something I enjoy. I’ve always loved being presented with an idea and considering how I can help another bring it to fruition.

In past jobs I always sought an opportunity to express ideas and connect with the audience related to the company. This be it new transfer students needing knowledge of the school community or admissions staff needing necessary documentation. In line with providing communication, opportunities to provide supporting critique and feedback in the editing world, I have worked as a copyeditor in journalism and other literary spheres. 

I know how frustrating it can be to have a set of ideas but not be fully sure on how to articulate it towards your customer, or having an idea in mind with no idea on how to implement it or get the word out there to your target audience.

My aim is to meet others where they are. Helping them to notice their blind spots with their brand messaging and curate copy that can assist them into bringing their idealized visions to life so that they can meet their customers’ needs.
